EISENHORN

Rated 5 out of 5 by James

This trilogy is the very reson I am such a warhammer fan, it is gripping a par with Holms,Colubo and Poirot.I have it in my collection and it is read over and over again, if you want to do your brain a favour you need to read this book.

A great addition to the Eisenhorn Mythology

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jordan J. Lloyd

Those familiar with Abnett's most excellent Eisenhorn and Ravenor series will find the audio book a fine addition. I would say the flavour of the first two stories 'Master Imus's Trangression' and 'Regia Occulta' was more akin to an episode of the X-Files set in space.'Thorn Wishes Talon' is an audio dramatisation of the 2004 story featured in 'What Price Victory' anthology. Heavy Entertainment have done a sterling job with the production, with fantastic voice acting from several actors, featuring 'Prospero Burns' actor Gareth Armstrong. The music and sound effects really set the tone.

It's like eating potato chips, can't stop at just one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gerry

First off this collection of audio dramas contains about 2 hours of play time so in my mind the value is pretty good. The sound effects and voice acting are top rate. For fans of Abnett's inquisitors (both old and new) this audio offering will prove a real treat and perhaps provide cause to revist the books again. The only problem is I can get enough. I listened to them one after the other, I'd certainly appreciate more Eisenhorn or Ravenor on audio, the sooner the better. Thanks for making this BL.

Fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michal

Great addition to the existing books. The production is of high quality. This is the first audio drama I listened to and I was afraid that the sound effects might be a little cheesy, but they're actually really cool and well done. The soundtrack adds fantastic atmosphere and the voice acting is great. Funny to hear Ravenor's transponder voice. I think it's good he doesn't talk much cause it might get a bit annoying. All in all, highly recommended, and it's 2 CDs!

Excellent voice acting, horrendous SFX

Rated 3 out of 5 by erik

I must say I was dissapointed and put off by these audio dramas. Not because of poor voice acting: this was the high point. Rather, the sound effects (a big part of what makes these audio dramas different from audio book) were rediculously poor. The sounds are cheap, royalty free sfx used ad infinitum by bargain bin games, cheap tv shows, advertisements and movies. To add further insult, they are often looped in frustratingly recognizable fashion or used inconsistently with what is happening in the story. The result is a diminished listening experience, and at least one dissapointed customer..
