Faced with an ork invasion of Piscina IV, the 3rd Company of the Dark Angels believes the threat to be minimal. As enemy numbers continue to increase, their commander, Captain Belial, insists that his Company are strong enough to resist. But Scout-Sergeant Naaman knows just how dangerous this foe can be, and when a renewed greenskin offensive takes the Dark Angels by surprise, the orks swarm towards Kadillus Harbour. Little do the Dark Angels know of the technological power available to the xenos, and the true scale of the threat they face. Belial, Naaman and their fellow Astartes fight a desperate siege at Kadillus, knowing that they must hold out until Imperial reinforcements arrive or the planet will be lost.

At last, Dark Angels!!!!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Daniel
I cannot wait for this to be released!!! It is rare that Dark Angels get any attention, so this will be a blessing indeed!! Just one question guys; why do all the Battles books so far focus on battles against the Orks!? How about some intelligent enemies with character and depth?? Anyway, good luck Gav, my birthday is on the 10th February so this will be an amazing present for a Dark Angels fan!!
Nice!

I just hope that the orks actually do some damage this time around! In the Helsreach novel the greenskins were just used as target practice, really though, I hope they're a lot more feared and capable in this installation. Lets see some love for the boyz!
Gav back in the armoured green seat

Finally a book from the dark angels by the man who knows them only too well. And finally a book that focus's on the chapter that doesn't envolve a hunt for the fallen. I;m looking forwards to the story.
Huh?

I'm confused why people are complaining about the Dark Angels not getting attention. Not only do they have several books dedicated to them (Two Horus Heresy books and a prior Gav Thorpe book,) but they also have an entire codex to themselves. There are several founding chapters that have hardly gotten any love. (Iron Hands, Raven Guard, Imperial Fists, etc.) Also the DA are about the Fallen- that's what makes them DA! Don't get me wrong, I am VERY excited for this book, especially if Gav is writing it. (Angel of Darkness is one of my favorite 40k books to date.) But be realistic DA fans...
Finally a book on a current hero

I've been waiting for a book on Belial for ages, even toying with writing my own, but now Mr Thorpe has saved me the drama! This is Belial's penultamate battle and should keep readers glued to the pages. Now someone will have to write a book for Sammael.
Stop the Complaints

Complaining about the DA not getting attention. (facepalm) Has anyone heard of the Iron Hands? Can't wait though this series has been great. I'm only rating it one since it hasn't come out yet.
Epic

Can't wait for this book to be released.
More Orks!
Rated 3 out of 5 by Andrew
I'll go neutral with a rating till I read this book lol Aside from that, people, stop moaning about orks. They are the most numerous race besides the Imperium, course they going to clash with the Imperium more than Chaos or other races lol Besides, Orks rock! Bash those big tin men good they do lol
Boreas is back

After waiting a long time for Gav Thorpe to write more DA its finally here. I got into reading BL novels from Gav,s 1st DA book. I like his style of writing, its fluid and keeps you reading chapter after chapter without putting it down. This latest novel lives up to his high standards. Some of Gav's older characters are back which was good to see, especially Boreas who is my favourite BL character. Purging of Kadillus is gripping, well worth a read. I hope Gav writes more DA and wish BL will let him write a 3rd DA Heresy novel if there is one.
A great read

Another great addition to the Space Marine Battles series, I finished reading the book this weekend and I have to say its well up their with some of the best that I have read from BL. The story is great the characters all have a great amount of depth to them, you really feel like you are with them on their journey through out the book, already looking forward to the next book in the space marine battle series.
Awesome
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stuart
Was a really compelling read once you get into it. The first part was a bit unbelievable, but it got really good once Naaman is introduced. Also can Mr Thorpe do an orc book. Those small parts at the beggining and end from their view was brilliant.
Great Book

I love all of these books, but my favorite part of this book is the "About the Author" page.
disappointing
Rated 2 out of 5 by BigReader
very disappointing. The marines seem stupid and the battle doesnt make sense. Its got nothing on Helsreach but its better than rynss world, Hunt for voldorius doesnt even count as far as im concerned
Ugh disappointed

I love Gav Thorpe but i am having problems finishing the book, it's not up to his normal standards and I find the book even with all the action not keeping my attention. The characters are too obvious and card board cutout and the plot is OK. Gave I love you and will read all your books now and in the future but this one is eh.
Looks awesome!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dylan
By the looks of things this should be an awesome book. Read a small portion of it in a preview catalog and I can't get enough. One thing though, "Daniel"for you to complain about orks being the antagonist in all these books would be fine but it is not true at all when you say they are an unintelligent race with no character or depth. Obviously you have never read any background on the orks or you would understand that there is as much to them as any space marine chapter.
Gav scores with the orcs

Decent story, but what ups the ante is Ghazghkull and Nazdreg. These two really know how to prosecute a proper waaagh! Unfortunately, this leaves Captain Belial looking like an idiot (more so than I would have expected from a company commander). Despite being able to see the ending from 30 klicks away, there was sufficient punishment on both sides to keep it honest. Nice job, Mr. Thorpe!
Enjoyable.

Gav Thorpe took a different approach with going from chapter to chapter with different characters but I found myself frustrated with trying to follow to many characters story lines as the build up continued on. Wanting to maintain a central figure more then having the four characters that are talked about throughout the story. A great read but lacking what I was hoping to find about the Dark Angels.
Read this book!

My first Black Library book, and really Science Fiction book that I have read. This book was fantastic! I could not stop reading this book. The book tells you a lot of Dark Angels Information and every Ork kill was described with details. It also has a few different subplots that are very interesting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, that is into this kind of stuff.
First Book

It was the first book I read from this series and it's simply amazing! This was the one that made me bought all the others.
