In the war-torn future of the 41st millennium, the Inquisition fights a secret war against the darkest enemies of mankind – the alien, the heretic and the daemon. The three stories in this omnibus tell the tale of Inquisitor Gideon Ravenor and his lethal band of operatives, whose investigations take them from the heart of the Scarus Sector to the wildest regions of space beyond, and even through time itself. Wherever they go, and whatever dangers they face, they will never give up until their mission succeeds.
Contains the novels Ravenor, Ravenor Returned and Ravenor Rogue, plus two short stories and an introduction by the author.

In the steps of Eisenhorn
Rated 5 out of 5 by burrek
Just as Eisenhorn, this is an excellent novel. Suspense, moral questions, insanely interesting characters, action, drama, all of the highest craftsmanship. The price versus quality on this volume is just ridicules. Apart from the story it has excellent cover and editing that helps to immerse the reader. My only grit with the novel is the lack of more in depth exploration of the cripple aspect and the super-human, goody-two-shoes nature overly heroic portrayal of Ravenor himself. If you've read Eisenhorn, which is a must, this book is a superb followup and does not feel like "more o'the same"
Brilliant!!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Daniel
Without doubt the best Black Library book I have read, and I've read an awful lot. The story is brilliant. The characters are all truly magnificient, the way you connect with them and truly become immersed in the 40k universe through them is only possibly matched in Eisenhorn. The action is handled beautifully, the fights are not too easy, but tough and real. My only slight gripe is with the overall ending, to me it was a minor anti climax, but really it doesn't diminish what is a wonderful book. I cant recommend this highly enough. Read with a Ravening hunger, you'll devour the pages!
possibly the best book ever?

seriously engrossing. fantastic character development. crazy-awesome twists. just the best book out there in the wh40k library, when it came to the last few pages i was limiting myself to one a day to make it last longer! i haven't read the eisenhorn books yet because i know it will be awesome and i dont want that "goddam! its almost finished!" all over again, probably the most upset i've been in years when i finished this book.
Dan Abnett's best so far
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben
Totally engrossed from the second i started reading these books. The way Mr. Abnett forms his characters, and the way he makes their personalities become more and more obvious and interesting is fantastic. Patience Kys and Nayl are just superb characters. Would love to see a second group of books about them.
Badass

Ravenor is like Professor X wrapped in a Darth Vader shell, infused with ten kinds of awesome and the Emperor's will.
