Young Interrogator Mita Ashyn struggles to prove herself worthy to her master despite her growing feelings of unease at the hypocrisy within the Inquisition. When they visit the remote and sunless hive-world of Equixus, she suspects nothing more than minor corruption and heresy.
Night Lords Commander Sahaal has been in exile for ten thousand years, plotting to defeat his treacherous rival Acerbus and once again rule over his dark army. To do this he must find an ancient artefact that was stolen from him, and nothing - not even the Inquisition - will stand in his way.
The full horror of the Night Lords Chaos Space Marines is revealed in this pulse-pounding SF thriller from author Simon Spurrier.

Before Soul Hunter and Blood Reaver, there was Lord of the Night which helped expose the back story of one of the more tortured Traitor Legions. It's great to see this book return as a print on demand title years after its initial release. Although the Night Lord Captain spins a plot more worthy of the Alpha Legion, this book is a great look at the inner workings of a hive city and the cruelty that lies there.
Awesome Book

I read the novel when this was originally published and found it MUCH better than the current Night Lord novels.

I finished this book in just under 3days...was blown away that after i thought these books couldnt getting any better after being amazed at the ultramarine series, that a night lords novel could be the epic. have a new found compassion for the emperors sons that have fallen from grace and was stirred emotionally at how the author made you feel and eventually come to resepct the night lord captain PLEASE THE SEQUEL HAS TO COME, NOT A NOVEL TO BE KEPT HANGING FOR ANOTHER 6YEARS
Wrong flavor text

Awesome book which is mandatory reading if you like the current Night Lords novels by ADB. But... is it possible that the flavor text (both the short and the long) are completely wrong on this site ?
FANTASTIC

Absolutely loved this book! It is the best warhammer(fantasy or 40k) book I have ever read and the print on demand version is so cool! It gives a lot of insight into the Night lords legion as well as life in a hive ciy. The only thing i don't like about it is the fact that there isn't a sequel!!! Once again, best warhammer book ever

in one night i finished this book and my only complaint is that it ended. it tells you who the Night Lords are and how and why they turned from the emperor. A truly amazing book and i definetly can't wait to read more about this betrayed legion AVE DOMINUS NOX
Badass

This book is awesome. ADB and Simon Spurrier should do a Night Lords crossover. Heh- although if you ask me, Zso Sahal would chew Talos's face off.

Lots of reviews for this book seem to be focused on how this is "better" than the ADB trilogy. This isn't really accurate, to me. Personally, I've enjoyed both takes on the Night Lords. I would dearly love to see a sequel to this book, however I *love* what ADB has done with Talos and really dig the alternative style he presents of a struggling, terminally-ill Legion. Either way, with either take on the Night Lords - give me more.
