The world of Idos is on the verge of destruction, wracked by catastrophic storms and plagued by ravening tyranids. Into this maelstrom come the Raven Guard 4th Company, the warzone perfectly suited to their lightning-strike methods of combat. Led by Veteran Sergeant Grayvus, their mission is simple – to rescue the planet’s last survivors. But in the midst of this nightmare, they receive new orders to locate and destroy a power station. The station is built upon a fault line, and the resulting quake would swallow thousands of tyranids and turn the war in the Imperium's favour. Grayvus and his company must fight their way through genestealers, acid spore mines and a deadly biomorph if they are to succeed and reclaim Idos for the Imperium.

Great listen
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lawrence
This is my first time buying an audio book and I have to say I am very impressed; full of action but not lacking in a good story either that really paints a great picture in the mind of the struggle of the space marines against the tyranids. Great to see the Raven Guard get a shot at the spot light for a change as well
very good
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jonathan
I baught it as a mp3, was well worth the money and very enjoyable. It was a little short but very in depth with descriptions and the background noise/effects made it even better. The story was compelling and kept me drawn in the whole time. It was read very clearly and understandable. Will deffinantly recomend this. On a down note I wish it was longer and had just a bit more story, but seeing as it was read to me very fast I can understand.
An exciting story and vision

Helion Rain is a good Space Marine tale. I liked the concept of the setting and it was great to listen to a story that featured tyranids and genestealers outside of a space hulk and on the rampage! The specific details about the Raven Guard chapter; the exposure given to Space Marine scouts; and how the narrative is driven by a piece of military strategy were all also very enjoyable. This was my first experience of George Mann's writing and he has produced an admirable first-time effort in penning a Black Library audiodrama: I look forward to sampling any future work he does for the BL.
raven guard, yay!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Billy
The raven guard have always been of interest to me, finally there is a story around them. If I'm honest I would have enjoyed the book form of this a little more and I have never been overly keen on Longworth's somewhat gruff delivery. Overall I gave it a 4/5, not saying Longworth is bad but he can make a good war book a little...uhm... uncomfortable to listen to.
