An outstanding read

Rated 5 out of 5 by David

Very few books in recent years have been able to capture the true “grim and dark” nature of 40k in quite the same light as Gordon Rennie did with these books. They show a desperate Imperial Navy in all its regal nature … within the first 10 pages a lowly crewman get crushed to death by a giant crane – that’s just cool. To summarise if you have money to spend, and want to read about breathtakingly thunderous space battles, Abaddon the despoiler destroying whole worlds, and the planetary upheaval of a religious pilgrimage, I recommend these books.

Unique and Well Done

Rated 5 out of 5 by John

The storyline is cool, though not as deep as some 40K tales. The book is well written, the stories are original and entertaining. Most of all, this book provides a unique focus on the Imperial Navy with plenty of space battles and insight into imperial ship workings. Also refreshing, this book is not about the imperium getting licked by the all-powerful forces of chaos, but about the best and brightest in the mighty imperial navy taking the might of truth and steel to the sinister forces of the Dark Powers. Good to read about the Imperium winning for a change! Highly recommended.
