This volume is certainly worth the price of admission. Necropolis is an outstanding war-story deeply ingrained in the wh40k universe (except for a clumsy love scene). All the characters except the Ghosts themselves are very well crafted and the action is exhilarating. On the other hand, the remaining two books are full of repetitive action that is all too predictable. With the exception of a few stories, most do not even spark any memories and fail to establish the characters (especially when you know they will die on the next page) Necropolis makes this a worthy purchase for any 40k fans.

This question has been given me allot of headache over the last few weeks. And you see it allot over the internet. Well i finally formed an opinion. Why not have both? Best of two worlds. Mr. Abnett stories are sound and solid, but thats the lesser compared to his world building and this EVEN lesser compared to his characters. Mad Larkin, Try Again Brag, The Boy, Brin, Caffran, Rawne are all memorable characters to me. 1st and 2nd book are nice, good to get the feel from the Ghost and see how they all are. 3th book is a piece of art. Money well spend and i cant wait to read the next.
