In the grim far future, the Inquisition moves amongst mankind like an avenging shadow, striking down daemons, aliens and heretics with uncompromising ruthlessness.
Written by Gaunt’s Ghosts creator Dan Abnett, this volume charts the career of Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn as he changes from being a zealoyus upholder of the truth to collaborating with the very powers he once swore to destroy!
Part detective story, part interplanetary epic, Xenos, Malleus, Hereticus and the two linking stories are amongst the very best tales ever told by the Black Library.

My favourite book of all time. Dan pens a real journey for Gregor, with twists, turns and agonies that make you really feel for him and his associates, seeing the impossible choices he is faced with, bemoaning the cruel fates that force him down darker paths and feeling elation as he brings his enemies to justice, no matter the cost! I've found very few books that have made me feel so strongly about a character; I've re-read this book many times and still find it fantastic. Dan skillfully crafts the world and the characters who inhabit it, and you become a part of it if you give it a chance
