Commissar Cain is called to duty once more, saving a governor’s daughter from aplanet over-run by rebels. The uprising hides something far more sinister however – genestealer hybrids! The search for the source of the alien threat leads Cain to a drifting space hulk – a far safer place than beside the obsessed governor’s daughter. But when the Reclamator Space Marines suffer devastating losses at the hands of the Great Devourer, Cain and his trusty aide Jurgen must go it alone. With the tyranids waking and a group of stow away orks on the loose, there are no safe places to run or hide, and Cain must use all his ingenuity and cunning to escape the space hulk alive.

Why Hardcover????
Rated 1 out of 5 by Brennan
Why do we all the sudden switch to hard cover? Now I have to wait a year until this comes out in paperback. I don't understand why, half way through a series, authors decide to do this. It's dumb when all they think of is profit...disappointing. I'll review this in a year, or whenever it decides to come out on paperback.
Missing the point....

Brennan - "why hardcover"? If you don't want to pay £18 for the book then don't pay it and wait a year. They're "dumb to think of profit"? This is how an author makes a living!

Once again Sandy Mitchell hits one out of the park. Can't wait for it to come out even if it is hardback. I'll buy it and when it comes out in paperback I'll buy that too. Now we just need his story about the dark eldar and Interus Prime.
Great Read

Sandy Mitchell has done it again, i finished reading the book last week (picked it up at games day nice and early also got it signed buy the man him self :D ) The story grabs hold of you from the start and does not let go till the end, great action all the way through another great edition to the Cain series
I am disapointed.

Normaly Mr. Mitchell and the Cain stories give me fond new memories. But in this case i was really disapointed. The storyline was FUBAR. I got the feeling this book was rushed, for 1 to 3 were independ stories, 4 to 6 were all related to each other but this one..... It lacked the normall flair i see with Cain. I did not laugh as much, or was at the edge of my seet with suspends. And the ending was forced more then ever. I wonder what Mr Mitchell thinks himself of his latest Cain creation?
Moar books in hardcover please :D

I think I'll order this just because it's hardcover! Wish the Horus Hersey books were in hardcover (would make a great christmas gift ;D)
Mr. Cain, your salamander is waiting...
Rated 4 out of 5 by matt
Sandy (Alex) is one of my favorite BL authors and while this wasn't one of his best reads, it is still quite entertaining. Normally Cain is forced into situations by someone above him, but he operates with much more autonomy here than the norm. I think this created less tension despite the gratuitous action. Wouldn't hurt to leave the lady at home next time either. Would have given it a 3 but Cain is just too much fun. Can't wait for the next...

Another one Cain

I don't like Cain series that much. I can't wait for the third book of mr. Mitchel's Dark Heresy (Inquisition) series though. That story just unbelievably awesome!
decisions, decisions
Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris
the thing to remember regarding soft/hard cover, cover art, sometimes even book title ... most of these decisions are the domain of the publisher, and not so much the author.
