Only giving it 4, as it needed more Malekith in it, but otherwise an awesome read. Finished it in under 2 days
Arrows and blades in the dark

An exceptional tale of woe. Alith Anar is a compelling character and his deeds are well-chronicled in this dark novel of loss, revenge, awakening and utter determination. There is a ton of great background info on Nagarythe in particular and Ulthuan in general: useful for fans of High Elves and Druchii alike. The story has some serious depth which I greatly appreciated. Gav Thorpe once again shows he certainly knows his business as an author. Absorbed the book in one long night and now sharing it with my wife (a new Dark Elf player). Two thumbs way up! 5 stars!

An exceptionally brilliant story. Easily a 5 out of 5. Gav Thorpe is quickly establishing himself as one of the forefront black library authors. It is a brilliant tale of woe and deception. The high elves are always thought of as the 'good guys' so to see how Alith Anar became the shadow king using unsavory tactics to get there. I wont give away any spoilers but the general plot is that his family is betrayed by those he thought to be allies and he seeks vengeance by literally massacring every dark elf he came across with his shadow warriors to try and defeat Morathis cults of pleasure.
