Aenarion

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anar

This would have been an easy five if that had finished !!! It was awesome! Beth Chalmers an John banks create a new world of elves and demons which spring to life as you hear this story. Gav Thorpe hammered out an almost perfect audio drama, though it was surprising that it ended before the tale could be completely told. I guess this is part 1? This is a solid 5 if indeed this is a two part story, but for now a 4... well 4.5 :)

Good high fantasy

Rated 3 out of 5 by Brother Endeavour

I found Aenarion slow to get into - despite some epic opening scenes - but once I got a feel for the characters I enjoyed the tale. Gav Thorpe writes characters who are struggling with good and evil very well, and does this again with Aenarion. Also, his feel for the style and nuances of high fantasy (accentuated further by Beth Chalmers excellent reading) differentiates this Time of Legends work nicely from other Warhammer stories. Aenarion's main drawback is that it is not so well-balanced as a stand alone story: but it is still very enjoyable, and a must if you are reading Time of Legends.

A Legend brought to Life

Rated 4 out of 5 by Soulmorte

I really enjoyed this one, the scenes were really well described, at one point I could almost taste the air in battle. Mr Thorpe didn't fail to impress making me wanting the rest of the First Pheonix Kings story to be told! I especially liked the relationship between Aenarion and Indraugnir which was pure undying loyalty. The story was very well narrated as well by Beth Chalmers and some good voices added by John Banks bringing thr story to life.

Disappointing

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tim

Enjoyed the idea and the concept but I wasn't so fussed with the dialogue or the fact that the vast majority of the audio drama took place on the flight. It felt very much like Frodo and Sam from Lord of the Rings, and in the end was a little dull because. Sorry Gav.

Good but a little short

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jacob

Good story, shame about the length of the recording though (unless i missed something). If it was twice as long or even half as long again it would have gotten 5.

Fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by David

I thought this was brilliant, a great filler while waiting for Caledor to be released! The voice acting for Aenarion was great but was very much overshadowed by the voice of Indraugnir, which hooked me very early in the story. A must for those following the Elves in the Time of Legends!
