Unaware of the wider Heresy and following the Warmaster’s increasingly cryptic orders, Roboute Guilliman returns to Ultramar to muster his Legion for war against the orks massing in the Veridian system. Without warning, their supposed allies in the Word Bearers Legion launch a devastating invasion of Calth, scattering the Ultramarines fleet and slaughtering all who stand in their way. This confirms the worst scenario Guilliman can imagine – Lorgar means to settle their bitter rivalry once and for all. As the traitors summon foul daemonic hosts and all the forces of Chaos, the Ultramarines are drawn into a grim and deadly struggle in which neither side can prevail.
When war comes to Calth and set the planet aflame, the Ultramarines face annihilation against a foe who will use any means to settle their bitter grudge.

Worthy book
Rated 4 out of 5 by andrew72
Overall i liked the book. It is different from many other of the Heresy, it remembers me of old WWII movies where you have views from a lot of characters. 4 stars just because I felt some of the characters looked a bit unfinished/undeveloped. There are cool quotes / cameo appearances of characters from other books. Overall it is a worthy book if you like the HH series.
Simply epic
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ciaran
The Horus Heresy series is known for grandiose engagements and insane levels of carnage described in the way that gives maximum impact, but Know No Fear is the best example of this, by far - Dan Abnett does a masterful job of building up to the treachery, hooking you right from the first page, and when it is unleashed, it is simply impossible to stop reading. This is truly one of the best books in an amazing series, describing one of the most incredible battles of the Heresy, and an absolute must read for anyone who loves 40K
Decent Novel
Rated 4 out of 5 by Charles
I thought it was decently created. I felt the characters were not as developed as his other books though. Otherwise, a must read novel for any Heresy Fans out there.
Welcome depth to Guilliman and the Ultramarines
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cross
Given the prevailing view of Ultramarines as being "vanilla", Dan Abnett has done a good job of adding some delicious toppings to mix things up. Guilliman himself is stunning in his transformation, and each character really shines with their own quirks and traits. The Ultramarines are not just warriors; they are leaders, diplomats, and a lot more human than other legions. After Deliverance Lost I was soured on the Horus Heresy, but trusty Dabnett has brought me back in.
WARNING!!! SHEER EPICNESS
