It is the 31st millennium. Under the benevolent leadership of the Immortal Emperor, the Imperium of Man hasstretched out across the galaxy. It is a golden age of discovery and conquest. But now, on the eve of victory, the Emperor leaves the front lines, entrusting the great crusade to his favourite son, Horus. Have been loving the BL audio dramas since they were first released and it is great to see BL producing audiobooks of the Heresy, but abridged. 6 hours running time is still pretty good, I wonder what will be trimmed? May I suggest Digital download only Unabridged versions maybe??? It might be worth releasing your audiobooks via Audible.co.uk too so I larger audience and enjoy the amazing 40K universe. Looking forward to more audio releases and the ebooks :) (BL ebooks will defiantly mean I will buy a Kindle). The future looks great for BL fans.
Its a start...

I am with Static Lemon. Audible did a great job with Clancy's Ryan series on unabridged audio. I am a big fan of the series and would love to have unabridged audio versions to listen to on my commute to work. Congrats on finally moving forward with audio versions of published books. :)

I'm really pleased that the Black library are producing the Horus Heresy series in audio format but please oh please don't jsut rely on Audible as they only allow use of apple compatible tech!!

i love the series gives more of a in look of what happened and i must say it shocked me a lot one of the only books that really made me sad that i almost threw the book out cause i couldn't bare read what happened next but the audio itself it was okay
Epic

Really loved the way Martyn read this. Didn't sound corny like some of the other dramas, all the voices were done really well - I am glad i didn't cringe at any :) Love it. The abridged thing was OK, but im surprised they left out (what I felt) was some quite important stuff at the whisperheads. But the fact this was read so well and again I stress was not corny and embarrassing to listen to was excellent
Doesn't do the book much credit

Not impressed, i was expecting an audio drama like that of Garro Legion of One, sounds effects voice acting. Not just having the book read to me :(

I too am loving the audio adaptations of the BL stories. A real godsend for people who prefer listening instead of reading (often for lack of time). I would have given a rating of 5 but I removed one point for it being abridged. Please, please BL make the stories unabridged, and only download if necessary. A Thousand Sons and Propsero Burns were unabridged so I am very disappointed this one was cut.
Unabridged Please!

I thought the audio was perfect; Martyn Eliis did an amazing job. I Love being able to paint my minis while listening to the book. Like others have said, a real godsend for people who have limited time. Never read a Black Library book before, and really supersized by how amazing the story is. My only complaint would be that it should have been unabridged.
I'm older than Horus!

I've always found Horus Rising to be one of the best Heresy novels, such brilliance with the opening chapters. The audiobook is brilliantly read by Martyn Eliis. I cannot help but feel that there is to much content cut out. With the released unabridged Heresy novels, this should be remedied.
