Life as a princess in the colony of Athel Toralien is a constant struggle for recognition and purpose. When Hellebron, daughter of the city’s ruler, is snubbed by Queen Morathi, she vows to make a name for herself and claim her rightful place in the court at the capital, Anlec. Her ambition takes her into a life of battles against foul creatures, sectarian war, betrayal and gruesome sacrifice in a dangerous grab for power, as Hellebron seeks to become high priestess of the cult of Khaine, the Lord of Murder, The Bloody-handed God.
This lavish, A5 hardback novella features an exclusive story that will not be printed anywhere else for at least two years, and includes detailed internal art by artist Tiernen Trevallion. Also included is a prose version of Aenarion, previously only available as an audio drama. Only a thousand copies of this collectors’ edition novella will ever be printed – order your copy early to avoid disappointment.
Tiernen crafted 40 images for the book and his incredibly detailed Gustave Doré-style drawings have a twisted beauty that perfectly suit this sinister tale of sacrifice and murder.

Too Much For Too Little
Rated 2 out of 5 by Simon
As you can see the book is selling much slower than the previous special additions. Sadly this is because most think the price of these special edition novellas are too high reaching £40 with the postage. The book itself is well written and has some wonderful artwork. But alas is just not worth the price. You get 128 pages for the amount. Gav is a brilliant author but I feel this will be one of the last even I purchase. The books are good and I like to own them but I don't need them, I just like to read the wonderful stories, out of the three this is not up to the same standards at all.
Praise Khaine!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Xhalax
Once more Mr. Thorpe has left me biting my lip and cursing him (in the best possible way) with his latest part of The Sundering epic, due to the fact I didn't want the story to end.....and when it did end, I found myself wanting more! A great insight into the start of the worship of Khaine on a much wider scale, that is very much part and parcel of the Dark Elves and the start of the Witch Elves....as well as the rivalry between Hellebron and Morathi. Well written and engaging! And the prose version of Anaerion was a nice add-on too, with the beautiful Jon Sullivan picture included.
Brilliant yet expensive
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jason
I want to first say, yes this is an expensive book and the fact that we have to spend an additional £10 for the shipping does feel a little harsh. But These books are fantastic, I might be a tad biased as I am a huge book nut and these limited edition novellas do appeal to the collector and child inside, but even considering this I still feel like these are great additions to anyone's black library collection and well worth the price tag.
Brilliant Quality

Available limited time?

Saw a banner saying this would only be available until March 4...why is that? Should they not be allowed to sell out on their own, until all 1000 copies are sold? What would happen to the remaining copies?
Average Story for a Hefty Price

This book gives some nice info on the complex relationships that formed in the colonies prior to the Elves devastating civil war and the rise of Khaine that contributed to it. However, that's about all that you'll find in this short piece. Black Library needs to offer its readers a better reason to purchase these expensive books or they'll remain as purchases from only the most avid collectors.
