Great read

Another awesome book from ADB. Great tie in between the main character and a very particular inquisitor from the Black Library's past.
deep and provocative
Rated 5 out of 5 by adam
picked this up on Thursday, finished by Friday and really enjoyed it. while there are some great action scenes it was the way the author adds complexity to the lore that i really appreciated. loved the interplay with the wolves - i think Mr Dembski-Bowden really captured the difference between the two in the dialogue. highly recommend it.
One of the best books by BL ever
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jakub
I just read the book almost continuously and spent good part of next day reading soma passages again. It's one of the best books by BL ever, and possibly among maybe hundred best fiction books I ever read. I won't go into plot as every 40k fan should just read it. I just have to suggest it would make a great Audio Drama material!
Best BL Book I've Read
Rated 5 out of 5 by Erik
I admit, I have not read extensively from BL, but this book is the best I've read. The plot is amazing. The characters are so well done that I feel like I know them. My only disappointment (and it is a small one) is that I had hoped the book would be about how GK's become GK's. There is some flashback, but not as much as I had hoped. Read this book.

'Come when we howl...'

Well... What to say about 'The Emperor's Gift'? Suffice to say the Aaron Dembski-Bowden does it again. Superb characterisation, depth, background & blistering action (what would a 40K novel be without some serious shooty-death-kill?). I read this in less than a day, and like every other book i've read by Mr Dembski-Bowden I immediatly went back and read it again! I would certainly like to meet Hyperion and Inquisitor Jarlsdottyr again in the future, and as always The Rout make excellent characters in the grand saga that is the 40K universe! Buy it. Read it. Enjoy...
Brilliant!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nathan
This ranks up there with Prospero Burns as not just good 40k literature, but literature in general. The characterization is the fuel that brings this story alive, and what ADB does with the Grey Knights and the Space Wolves is just utterly brilliant. Highly recommended and well worth the time and money invested.
ADB delivers yet again
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark-Anthony
When I heard the news that one of my very favourite authors was going to write about my favourite 40K faction, I was pleased and apprehensive at the same time. I normally associate ADB with Chaos - Night Lords, Word Bearers and World Eaters - although Helsreach, Cadian's Blood and the eshort For the Fallen were brilliant. The characterisation is the corner stone upon which the rest of the book settles, the Grey Knights are elite amongst Space Marines and fleshing them out was going to be more difficult, but ADB managed them quite well. Logan Grimnar and the Space Wolves are larger than life. Another key factor which made the book so noteworthy is that you end up rooting for different characters, there is no good or evil, the Inquisition + Grey Knights and the Wolves make for compelling points of view. Finally its showed that ADB did his research regarding gravity, the moons of Saturn and other scientific factors, it made for a realistic read.
Best or You could buy this year!!

I wish I could it a 10 out of 10, not only is the Grey Knights story well told but the Wolves guest appearance is just as good as the Knights themselves!
