Storm of Iron
Storm of Iron

On the nightmare battlefields of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, few foes spark more fear and dread than the Chaos Space Marines. Nurturing a hatred that is millennia-old, they attack without mercy, spreading terror and destruction in their wake. Now hell has come to Hydra Cordatus, for a massive force of terrifying Iron Warriors, brutal assault troops of Chaos, have invaded the planet and lain siege to its mighty imperial citadel. But what prize could possibly be worth so much savage bloodshed and destruction and how long can the defenders possibly hold out?

Storm of Iron is the essential Chaos Space Marines novel by Graham McNeill, author of the highly popular Ultramarines series.

Storm of Iron

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eric

This is possibly the best book I've ever read. I've read it numerous times and it never gets old.

Honsou's first calling

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tyrannofex

This is the first story to feature the Iron Warrior Honsou, who appears in two short stories and two Ultramarines novels. It is a brilliant read from start to fininsh, though there is so much action in it can sometimes get a bit tedious, though that is soon erradicated by an awesome battle scene, or some poor guardsman/chaos space marine dying horribly. The book details a siege, and it is never certain who is going to win until the very end. It is even better if you haven't read the Ultramarines book Daed Sky, Balck Sun. All in all, a very good book and well worth a read.

Best Book Ever....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lord Krull

I hated reading until I read this book, and it changed my completely. Now I love it and have read many books since. Only Chaos Marine ones of course. Its incredibly fast paced, completely action-packed and you wont put it down for a second. Well, you will, but you'll be tearing your hair out. Buy it, or Khorne will personally decapitate you. Iron within!! IRON WITHOUT!!!

I blame it

Rated 5 out of 5 by Javier

This is the one. This is the first book I read from BL. This is the reason of my addiction. It´s a sad story- I was a tender, innocent Iron Warrior fan who could have become a respected scientific, a great musician or a humble but normal janitor. Instead, my mind was corrupted, my thoughts drowned in blood and soil, trenches running between magnificent fortresses made with iron, solid blood and living people fused together. Sigh. I liked sci-fi, but this was not like any other book I had read. It begins with utter brutality, and then go more brutal. And I just LOVE the final chapter.

A truly great book

Rated 5 out of 5 by Garrick

This is the first book in the Iron Warriors, Honsou storyline. Graham McNeill's prose is very vivid and visceral. The charactors are deep and the storyline is solid. This book is very hard to put down. You will truly escape reality in this book.

Hail the Warsmith

Rated 5 out of 5 by The Red Angel

Good god if they could do that to a fortress that the warsmith designed imagine how fast a fort that wasn't designed by him would fall the Iron Warriors made a joke of the Guardsmen and those poor, poor inferior, oh i mean imperial fists got destroyed

A must-read

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brett

Barring the Odyssey, this is probably my favourite book ever. I have read dozens upon dozens of WH40K novels, and this one is my favourite BY FAR. It captures the Grimdark just right. I have read it a half-dozen times, and like it more with each re-reading. It was also what got me into WH40k in the first place. If you only read one book from BL, it simply MUST be this one.

Best Warhammer book

Rated 5 out of 5 by Andreas

This was the first book about the Warhammer world I read. Been completely hooked since then! I've read Storm of Iron at least five times. Best book I've read.
