In the darkness of a derelict space hulk, the faith and fury of the Blood Angels are tested to the limit.
In this companion novel to the Space Hulk game, a battle is raging between Terminators of the Blood Angels Space Marines and a macabre alien race. But their resolve and skill is pitted against something that haunts their past, because the thousands of foes they face are the same creatures that six centuries ago nearly decimated the Chapter.
As a survivor of the earlier massacre, Sergeant Lorenzo has more to prove than any other. Carrying the stigma of the failure, he now fights for personal deliverance and to redeem the Chapter's honour.

Space Hulk = epic
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tyrannofex
Space Hulk is a book which crams in a lot into only around a hundred pages. The layout is good, as it describes many (if not all) of the missions in the board game of the same name. Though I read this having been into 40K for a while, I think this would be good for new readers as well, who are trying out this new genre for the first time. It is very exciting, and barely a page goes by without at least one genestealer getting blown up by a bolt round. And the action continues right up to the very end. All around,a very good book.
Redemption
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nick
Space Hulk is an epic short story that leaves you hanging on until the last page. An amazing story of redemption and sacrifice. Being new to the 40k genre I can think of no better story to really engulf a new reader in this universe. For the Emperor and the Angel!
Delve deeper into the hulk...

I was pleasantly surprised by Space Hulk: I expected a stilted narrative as it was structured around the game, but Gav Thorpe has produced a smooth and enjoyable action story. The content about space hulks as environments, the character of the Blood Angels and the genestealers is excellent; but I was left wanting more in several areas - particularly the initial confrontation between the Blood Angels and the genestealers; and what makes the Space Marine terminators distinct from the other marines in their chapter. Still, this is a good introductory 40K tale and great for any Blood Angles fans.
