Dal’yth. The forces of the Greater Good have established a stranglehold on the planet, and the time has come for the Imperium to move against them. The White Scars lead the ground assault against the tau, launching into combat with speed and fury, shedding blood as they gain ground against their enemies. Meanwhile, the members of the Crusade Council are determined to pursue their own agendas, and their politicking and back-stabbing will place the entire war effort in jeopardy. But little do they know that Inquisitor Grand has more extreme measures in mind, and the White Scars must achieve victory quickly or the cost to Dal’yth will be devastating.

"The forces of the Greater Good have established a strangehold on the planet" Stranglehold? Stronghold? Just wanna let ya know before ya put it on the back of the book :P
Follow-up?
Rated 3 out of 5 by Guillaume
I'm asking myself if this is going to be the follow-up of the Rogue Star, Star of Damocles series...? It would be fun to see some old face comeback as the Tau crush the Imperium off Dal'yth!
Stranglehold

In regards to the stronghold/stranglehold thing, stranglehold is what they mean. Stranglehold - A force, influence, or action that restricts or suppresses freedom or progress.
Stiring Stuff

This books rips into a breakneck pace, and rarely slows down. There are battles galore, behind the scenes machinations, intruige and the Imperium coming up against a technologically superior race for the first time, the Tau! A fantastic read!
A little bit of everything
Rated 3 out of 5 by matt
This book had a little bit of everything, from space to ground battles, Titan legions to space marines and imperial guard. Decent pace with good battles, although strangely I found myself cheering for the Tau the whole time - lone exception being Lucian. Overall it felt a little haphazard, with mixed results. The tie-in at the end with the looming threat to the eastern fringe was a nice touch.
Imperium vs Tau
Rated 3 out of 5 by Rob
This book is the last of the Rouge Star trilogy, and the cool thing is you don't need to have read the first two stories to appreiciate this. The battles are well done, and the characters are very engaging. However I would have liked to have learnt a bit more about some of the Tau generals - Puretide and Farsight, in particular, leading their cadres into battle with the Imperium's forces. Still, it's an enjoyable read and provides insight into the Damocles crusade we've never before seen.
Nerve-eating grammar
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nick
This has proven to be a real nerve-eating story for me as a life long Tau player. At times I had a feeling that the writer didn't do his homework on Tau and their technology, their military leaders and the whole Tau system. And one this that bothered me a lot was that he kept writing tau instead of Tau, with capitalization just like and other race in 40K universe!!! But I managed to enjoy it as it was the first book to feature Tau and I really hope that more will come, maybe with Tau in main roles!
Great Read

A great follow up to Rogue Star and Star of Damocles, was really good to see some great characters back in the game with some really good new ones as well.
