Driven on by their hatred of the False Emperor, the Night Lords stalk the shadows of the galaxy, eternally seeking revenge for the death of their primarch. Their dark quest leads them to a fractious alliance with the Red Corsairs, united only by a common enemy. Together with this piratical band of renegades, they bring their ways of destruction to the fortress-monastery of the Marines Errant.

I never thought I would pity a traitor legion
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben
Having managed to buy this book early at Black Library Live, I can absolutely say that Aaron Dembski-Bowden has created a superb sequel, that is an entirely different beast to its predecessor. Talos still remains one of the most unique Chaos characters in 40K, and his struggles with his own curse and the crumbling remains of his legion are given more depth and made all the more tragic. This however does not mean all the others are neglected, Uzas and the Exalted become much more intriguing characters the second time round. It is good to watch the Imperium fall to Traitor Astartes like these.

Aaron Dembski-Bowden has proved again that he is a powerhouse of a writer. A damn fine tale of betrayal, regret and vengeance. Ave Dominus Nox!
I can not wait.

I loved the story in the 5th edition rule book about this and now to have a full telling will be awesome.
Aaron Dembski-Bowden creates worlds
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nathan
I picked this book up early at Adepticon and suffice to say the plot is amazing, action is intense, deep characterization etc. But I want to focus on the fact that ADB is joining Abnett and McNeil not only in writing a good story, but also making that world come alive so that it's real in your head. It's incredibly easy to visualize the characters, and understand why they do what they do, because it all feels right. There is never a moment where you sit back and go "well that doesn't make sense." And best of all these aren't "anti-heroes." They're still Night Lords and yet...you root for em!
A True Rarity
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lord of the Night
Its not every author, or even every other author that can create characters like these. Villains who aren't good, nice or even honourable, they are cruel, amoral and treacherous and yet we still root for them and want them to win, and tear down the False Emperor. Fantastic story brimming with action, surprises and finally the Night Lords fight the way they were born to, in the darkness.
ADB cannot be stopped
Rated 5 out of 5 by Matt
Reading ADB is like standing in a pitch dark room and, in a brief flash of brilliance, finding out the room is 40,000 times larger than you thought. This series perfectly illustrates how unique and diverse the 40k universe should be. This guy gets better with every book, no question about it!
In midnight clad!

The Night Lords have always been my favourite chapter and ADB portraits this warband of traitors with such skill that you just cant stop read! If you havent encountered the Behemoth that is Aaron Dembski-Bowden the Night Lords saga is a excellent start.
Phenomenal
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simon
Prior to reading this book, Aaron's last Night Lords venture, Soul Hunter held the record as being the only book I've ever cover to covered in one day. In Blood Reaver, the membership of the cover to cover club has doubled. This book is simply fantastic, it will make you sympathise with a traitor legion, yes really. It adds further dimension to a secretive and popular legion with a few subtle homages in support of established black library canon. A fantastic novel, that needs to be read. By everyone. Kudos once again to ADB and thanks for taking another day of my life. No, really.
best read simply amazing
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ryan
prior to reading soul hunter I read other books from grey knights omnibus to ultramarines omnibus but I never felt that I could connect to the loyalist astartes, but it changed when I read Soul Hunter, I felt that that whatever the Night Lords did no matter how cruel and unjust seemed right because of 1st Claw, they are more human to me in a sense rather than the loyalists or other renegade marines, the only time I ever felt in awe of a visual spectacle set in 40k was in DoW games & the artwork, then BAM! I bought soul hunter and that all changed. Really a good book by ADB.
What happens next?

A good read, nice to see all the bickering and hatred of the warp tainting everyone. What happens next though? Looking forward to the next chapter...
Getting better fast
Rated 4 out of 5 by Javier
Darker, and (therefore) better, than Soul Hunter. I am getting a really good vibe for Void Stalker, it looks like most of the characters are gonna die (in a horrible way). ADB is writing better and better with every book.
AVE DOMINUS NOX
Rated 5 out of 5 by harry
I love this novel. the only problem with the book was it was tooo short. and now i have to wait for Voidwalker to come out before i get my dose of Talos and his posse. the way they bring the characters into something that makes you want to turn traitor and cast down the corpse emperor. the book just doesn't focus on talos but also the other Night Lords struggling with what is now their lives. i really hope ADB makes a dozen more books about talos and his warband.
My new Favorite Legion among Chaos
Rated 5 out of 5 by Levi
I have read Soul hunter and love it. I also love this book. I really got attached to hound and even more attacthed to Talos, Cyrion, Xarl, Uzaz, and Mercutain. When Vandred finally took back his body I was especially sad when the covenant had to be destroyed. I hope that Septimus, Octavia, and Nonus is it?(Maruc) Survice the rest of the series. I was enraged when Septimus almost died in Soul Hunter. I do not wish for any of the characters in this series to die at all. This book is amazing as was Soul Hunter. I can only hope Void Stalker is just as good. Keep it up Aaron Dembski-Bowden!!
