Essential Reading!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeff Preston

Gav Thorpe steps up to the plate and smashes the ball over the fence and out of the park! If you have any interest in the Eldar at all, you HAVE to read this book. Mandatory reading. If you play Warhammer 40k and field Eldar, this book should be read before you assemble and paint one figure. If you want to know what the Eldar are really like…you can’t pass this book up. Even if you aren’t so in to Eldar, it’s a smashing good read. Fantastic novel, rich in every way. No other novel to date has captured the overall vibe of the Eldar race so completely.

Love it so far...

Best Eldar Book

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ja

Of all Eldar stories or books, Gav delivers the best one. It really demonstrates who the Eldar are. Making me think of building an Eldar army...

Wonderful insight to the Eldar in 40K

Rated 4 out of 5 by Stephen_Newman

This book to me is the first in a very promising trilogy. Path of the Warrior makes a very insightful and enjoyable read. In agreement with other reviews that this is the comprehensive collection to any reader who is seriously into the Eldar. The characters are detailed and rich to keep interest and Gav keeps the pace flowing despite the small hiccup in very minor occasions. If it was possible I would give this a rating of 4.5 out of 5 since errors are very marginal and do not detract from a mesmerizing experience. Congratulations on Gav for an enjoyable read. I cannot wait to read more.

Absolutely amazing read

Rated 5 out of 5 by austin

The Start of the story starts slow and at times can be confusing if you miss even one paragraph but as the main character grows the pace quickens with battles being fast and brutal then the craft world being slow and more or less peaceful.I had trouble putting the book down and ended up reading half of it in a few days.I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Eldar because it takes you deep into the Eldar craft world showing off more than just war but the variety of paths the Eldar can take.

Striking Scorpions RULE!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mitchell

This is a must 4 anyone who has even the vaguest intrest in 40K and guives a very insightfull eye into a craftworld not just at wartime but other aspects as well. The only reason that I did not give this book a 5 out of 5 is because the ending for me was cut short and I felt robbed of at least another chapter. Other than that a great read and a must.

An insight only a human can dare say he understands

After reading this book I must say the eldar codex I've been reading for more then a year suddenly came to life in a new way. The subtle descriptions and wondrous worlds of the eldar life where breathtaking to behold. Even if only in your mind's eye. I can honoustly say this is one of the best books I've read on the subject of the warhammer 40K universe. Not just brutal war but the things that make Eldar the most fibrant yet doomed races in the universe. Great read, a must have!

Un-stoppable

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stephen

I dont think this book is for any eldar newbie but is for those that have an inkling of the eldar psykie. That said in parts it could be a good start is not a baptism of fire. Being used to reading of those in-quenchable space marines i was a bit put off by thery fragillity and how this was reflected in the novel. The moans over the imagery used was second to none and it is testament to mr.gav's authurial skills and his portrayal of this most vexing race Also i had some trouble understanding the ending but i believe in time and reading the other novels i will understand mor of the eldar

Walk the Path…

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kashif

A very rich and detailed book, containing some fantastically–portrayed characters. Gav Thorpe has the knack of drawing you into the mindset of the Eldar race, so that by the end you understand why they live and act as they do. Even more than this, the Eldar STILL retain a sense of mystery, and you come away from the book knowing more about them, but nonetheless considering them alien. Some have criticised the change of protagonist, but I think it’s wonderfully handled. A definite must–have!

Great Book!

One of my new favorite books!!!! I wish someone would write one for each type of aspect warrior. That would be awsome, or at lest a book with stories about the trainings and such at each shrine. This book showed the "behind the scenes" look of the Eldar race, and the Striking Scorpions in particular, without just going from battle from battle. Awesome!!!
