Another strong addition to the Horus Heresy series. James Swallow has written a smart, savvy murder-mystery, CSI, Kill-team novel set in the 40k (30k?) Universe and it totally works on several levels.

Nemesis showcases Swallow's talent to the full. A complex, intricate web of assassination, trickery and darkest sorcery- the novel blends together a variety of genres; blending police procedural with espionage thriller. The conclusion may be foregone, but Swallow's writing makes the journey enjoyable and gripping. Well-rounded characters, enjoyable plots and a brilliant scope make this one of the best of the series thusfar.

I was a little undecided if James Swallow was my favorite Black Library author but this one really wins my favor! (sorry Graham McNeill). Its a wonderful book and isnt filled with the ubiquitous Space Marine battles we've been reading about practically the whole time! No pock marked ceramite in this one. The assassins in the book are exciting characters and are fleshed out really well without having you lose interest, and they compliment each other well. Good luck out doing yourself on the next novel you bring out. Awesome work :P

An awesome blend of a 40k novel and a CSI episode, this book showcases Swallow's talent. James Swallow is fast becoming one of my favorites.

James Swallow once again brings death and glory from the dark abyss of chaotic space. Nemesis looks like another great read from someone who I activly search other works of. Games Workshop need to put this guy on retainer or something. An inspiring novel of courage and glory in the dark for all subjects of the Empror of man.
