Continuing Black Library Live week here on the blog, we have a piece of Horus Heresy artwork which was first seen by fans attending the event in Warhammer World on Saturday.

This incredible vista by Neil Roberts will feature on the cover of Deliverance Lost by Gav Thorpe which will be available next year. It focuses on the Raven Guard, with links to the storylines in the audio drama Raven’s Flight and the short story “The Face of Treachery” from Age of Darkness.

This is the first picture of Corax that has ever been used in any Games Workshop publication and was based upon a sketch by the mighty John Blanche himself. Neil’s attention to detail is astounding, as always. We particularly love the amazing cityscape behind Corax. Just be careful not to look at it for too long – we wouldn’t want you getting dizzy!

That artwork is totally amazing... reading TFH I had a different view of how Corax's wings look, more like astorath-style metal feathers attached to his jump-pack, but this looks equally cool. And is that some kind of a whip I see in his hand? And we need more Raven Guard 40k novels!!!!

Fantastic bit of art! Not sure he looks Primarch material, and the whip is a tad odd, but the quality is brilliant.

I like it, but I do think he looks a bit tanned for an albino...

Isn't he meant to be really pale? Maybe its just the lighting or something but he doesn't look it. Otherwise its awesome and glad they kept the power whip from raven's flight!

Looks great! If you have listened to Raven Flight than you will know all about the whip! He used it to crack some terminators in half. I always pictured him paler and not so native american, but I love the detail on the armour.

What?! This is unacceptable. According to Wikipedia, Corax is supposed to be the spitting image of Tyrese Gibson.

Corax isn't an albino, or pale. The Raven Guard get that mutation as a result of him messing around with the gene seed after Itvaan, in a desperate attempt to rebuild his massacred legion. Which is what I assue this book will be all about.

Actually he is described as pale. About the problems with the geneseed, " Eventually they will be as white as their Primarch and their hair and eyes will darken, becoming black as coal." Of course they could always change that.
